The Major Types of Meat Rabbits
Types of Rabbits- CalifornianThe Californian Rabbit is one of the larger breeds of rabbits which usually weighs between 8 and 12 pounds. The Californian Rabbit is one of the most popular commercial types of rabbits and is a very common rabbit breed in the United States. The Californian Rabbit is known for is large size and meat rabbit qualities. The Californian Rabbit is also a very popular show rabbit which is judged based on meat qualities.

Types of Rabbits- New ZealandThe New Zealand is one of the larger of the different types of rabbits which usually weighs between 9 and 12 pounds. The New Zealand Rabbit is one of the most popular types of meat rabbits and is also one of the most popular rabbits in the US. New Zealands are known for their completely white body which is unseen in other rabbit breeds.

Types of Rabbits-PalominoThe Palomino Rabbit is one of the larger types of rabbits which typically weighs between 9 and 10 pounds. The Palomino Rabbit is well known for its firm flesh, large shoulders and its orangish fur color.
